A Keller Butt Kicking

Of late, a 2006 message from Tim Keller titled, “The Supremacy of Christ and the Gospel in a Postmodern World” at the 2006 Desiring God National Conference has been kicking the butt of the inner-workings of our staff. Though this message is over a year old, we keep going back to it grappling with Keller’s insights and rethinking our evangelistic philosophy & strategy. May it be one of many catalysts for change.

  1. I have listened to all or part of this lecture about nine times. I am glad it is getting airtime with the staff. It has really opened my eyes “again for the first time” to the, well supremacy of the gospel. It scares me how pharisaical I have become. A new friend of mine summed it up best when he said that we want the benefits of knowing Jesus, but we don’t really want Jesus. May it never be…

May the best news ever – the gospel – always be central and may we drive it deeper and deeper into our hearts as live this side of heaven.

  2. Yes! Keller brought it again! The question is: How does the church transform (morph) from identification (though most have not) to integration in their philosophical/practical perspective?

  3. 9 times Denny! Your butt must be raw!

Jon, good question. Personally, I think your life is a living answer to that quesiton!
