Education the Trinitarian Way

Writer and theologian of higher Christian education, Nels Ferre presents an approach to education masked behind the Trinitarian model of our God.

He constructs the following parallels

  • God the Educator
  • Jesus the Exemplar
  • Holy Spirit the Tutor

When viewed from this perspective, consider how this model informs our role of discipleship within the church.

One Response to “Education the Trinitarian Way”

  1. Consider:

God the Father = Creator God, the originator of planned lessons.

Jesus the Son = Exemplar/Educator who modeled his teaching, just like good classroom teachers model teaching techniques today.

The Holy Spirit does, indeed, act like a tutor in many instances.
