Missional Patterns

As we discover natural patterns in science, we also find them within the advancement of Christ’s mission.  James MacDonald insightfully points out these ministry patterns:

  1. Communication of the gospel (word & deed)
  2. Opposition
  3. Perserverance
  4. Fruit
  5. Glory given to God.

Read over Acts 13-14 and notice how the cycle occurs each time in Paul’s ministry ventures.  Consider your personal or corporate ministry.  Do you see a similar pattern (with sometimes a looping of 2&3 prior to fruit)? If not, what could that mean?  If so, what does this “proven pattern” within scripture say to you?
