Planning For Plans

In helping organizations take adequate steps from vision to initiatives, an incremental, goal-setting path may be helpful.  One idea to consider would be to move from creating a “five-year-outlook,” to a “three-year-plan,” and finally a “one-year-lock.”

When moving from long-term to short-term goals, this helps your organization to be making the proper financial commitments along the way, while always allowing for improvisation if and when needed.  You will also find that for those team members who need details (especially financial details), this pushes the visionary to provided necessary information, yet at a manageable and practical pace.
